Captain of the football and basketball teams and member of the baseball and track teams at Susquehanna. Swoope is remembered most as one of the best fullbacks in Crusader gridiron history, "Swoope". Said former SU mentor G.O. Stahl. "Had the power to pick up yardage through the center of the line and the speed to go outside."
